Is Raleigh's Mayor McFarlane crusading for a law that would only permit IRS tax-exempts to dispense charity (religious or otherwise) by excluding generosity from all others? Who is she fronting for....restaurants? supermarkets? government food pantries?
Ask your favorite restauranteur if they're prohibited from giving away unused food to the needy at closing. Does it all go into a dumpster? Yeah, it must be thrown out, and is unlawful to give it away.... even though it's your food.
Kick the government, state, local, or federal, out of charity! They have no Constitutional authority, state or federal to interfere in the giving of others. Don't let them use that "in the general welfare" nonsense on you. CAUTION: Beware 'false flaggers' who would join your group for the express purpose of contaminating your food as "evidence" that government regulation is "needed".
