On Saturday, thousands of citizens throughout the nation protested military strikes against Syria. A group of activists assembled at the busiest intersection in Spartanburg, S.C. to wave signs and bring awareness to the ongoing push to strike Syria by the Obama administration. A local police officer told them that if someone complained they would have to leave because they did not have a city permit. He also said that activists who continue to protest on the crosswalk would go to jail.

Is Raleigh's Mayor McFarlane crusading for a law that would only permit IRS tax-exempts to dispense charity (religious or otherwise) by excluding generosity from all others? Who is she fronting for....restaurants? supermarkets? government food pantries?

Ask your favorite restauranteur if they're prohibited from giving away unused food to the needy at closing. Does it all go into a dumpster? Yeah, it must be thrown out, and is unlawful to give it away.... even though it's your food.

Kick the government, state, local, or federal, out of charity! They have no Constitutional authority, state or federal to interfere in the giving of others. Don't let them use that "in the general welfare" nonsense on you. The beauty here is that if you do not carry the weapon on your person, and meet the other usual behavioral state laws YOU DO NOT NEED A PERMIT TO BUY A FIREARM. Especially valuable to realize for home safety protection. See SC Senate Bill S0148: "HOME INVASION PROTECTION ACT". The House status of the equivalent in the SC is not as clear, but we're sure somebody out there knows! Of course, we'd much prefer both state legislative chambers remove and nullify all references to federal firearm laws.

I suppose if widespread societal disorder should unfold, having a handgun on the street without a carry permit is preferable to being carried by six. As we've always believed: Support your local sheriff.

These were the emissaries of the Union League Clubs of Philadelphia and New York that have been unfairly denied their historic status in the consolidation of the negro vote. Organized in the dark days of the war to revive the failing spirit of the people, they had become bitterly partisan clubs with the conclusion of the struggle; and, the Union saved, they had turned with zest to the congenial task of working out the salvation of their party. This, they thought, depended on the domination of the South through the negro vote. Sagacious politicians, and men of material means, obsessed with ideas as extreme as those of Stevens and Sumner, they dispatched agents to turn the negroes against the Southern whites and organize them in secret clubs.

Louisiana tops the nation's list of "improper" payments for unemployment insurance with a 3-year rate of 38.67%. Of course, this is the "improper" payments they know about (as only 29.7% of overpayments have been recovered).

Even as they condemn the Syrian regime’s use of cluster munitions, the U.S. is selling Saudi Arabia $640 million worth of American-made cluster bombs. Cluster munitions have been banned in 83 countries on account of their indiscriminate nature and their record of killing children.

The Attorney General's list of subversive organizations was published on the Federal Register 13 on 20 March 1948. The list consists of organizations classified as Soviet communist controlled. With the politicization of our federal law enforcement agencies, the List was abolished by Nixon in 1974. Does, however, give you a tip on how much the subversives revered Abraham Lincoln, eh?
